Free and open to the public.
Come hear Nelson Institute musicians and others present a free concert of environmental music in honor of the 41st Earth Day.
5:00PM -- Nelson Institute doctoral student Chris Bocast and UW-Madison music student Emily Blessing will perform modern ambient music on electric guitar and keyboards, based on environmental compositions by the famed classical composer Claude Debussy.
6:00PM -- Madison "class-grass" ensemble Graminy (Chris Wagoner, fiddle; Shauncey Ali, fiddle and viola; Mary Gaines, cello and vocals; Chris Powers, guitar; and Nelson Institute faculty associate Michael Bell, mandolin) will perform ecologically inspired acoustic music that blends classical and bluegrass traditions.
The concert will conclude with a new piece for Earth Day by Bocast, Blessing, and Graminy.
