In spring 2010, the Wisconsin Humanities Council will take Tales from Planet Earth on the road! Building on the themes of the film festival, the Wisconsin Humanities Council will tour several films from Tales from Planet Earth to Baraboo, Milwaukee, Dodgeville, and Chequamegon Bay as part of its Making It Home initiative. Showing the same films in different contexts will offer a reconsideration of the films' themes, as they may resonate and relate differently with new audiences. The hope is that this initiative will help Wisconsinites consider what it is that defines their homes and communities - both the cultural and historical ties that bind them together and the environmental and social justice challenges that they face. We look forward to partnering with the Wisconsin Humanities Council in this exciting effort!
