The Wisconsin DNR Lake Management Planning Grant project was aimed at review of the status of research on Lake Wingra water quality and development of plans for potential projects aimed at protection and restoration of the lake and its watershed.
During the summer of 1999, graduate students from the Water Resource Management Program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and the Friends of Lake Wingra community organization will undertake a study to examine the Lake Wingra Watershed. The research was funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and administered by the Dane County Executive's Office. The overall goals of the project are: (1) water quality monitoring, (2) public outreach materials, (3) coordination of agencies, and (4) stormwater management analysis.
