Coastal Wetlands of Manitowoc County: Plant Database
Water Resources Management Practicum, Summer 1998

The vegetative survey information is contained in the files in this

directory.  The original vegetative surveys were recorded on paper and

entered into spreadsheet files.  These files were processed by a

custom program in order to tabulate data for the survey sites.



The following files are present:



    1access.txt

    2access.txt		Files containing rows of vegetative surveys.

			Columns (aside from the first 5) are species

			by scientific name.  Fields are tab-delimited

			and sutiable for importing into popular

			database or spreadsheet programs.  The first

			file contains Abies balsamea through parnassia

			glauca, and the second file contains

			Parthenocissus through Vitis riparia.  Two

			files were created to avoid having greater

			than 256 columns in a file.



    Appendix.txt	Species (rows) by wetlands (columns)

			occurrence table.  There is an `X' in the cell

			if a species was found in any of the

			vegetative surveys done for a wetland.  The

			fields are tab-delimited.



    Pnative.txt		Percent native vegetation for each vegetative

			survey.  Fields are tab-delimited.



    Species.txt		Master species list.  Includes common name,

			scientific name, alternate names, reference,

			and native/non-native designation.
