Biography: I was born and raised in Charlotte N.C. I received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Oregon-Eugene. All three degrees were in anthropology specializing in North American archaeology and focusing on botanical remains in Native American residential sites as evidence for both human interactions with the environment and climate change. At UW- Madison I have shifted my focus to the aquatic environment specializing in identifying and interpreting micro-crustacean remains as clues to ecosystem function in the context of climate change.
