Biography: B.A. in Computer Science and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College, M.A. in Geography from U. f Minnesota - Twin Cities, and Ph.D. in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to arriving at UW, I was an postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO. My research revolves around questions of regional surface-atmosphere exchanges of greenhouse gases, water, and energy, which we answer using tower, airborne, and satellite observations, and climate models. These questions help us better understand how ecosystems modify the climate and vice versa, feedbacks that are critical to improving prediction of climate change.
