Biography: Richard C. Keller is associate professor in the Department of Medical History and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he teaches courses in the history of medicine and international health. He also holds appointments in the African Studies Program, the Program in Science and Technology Studies, and the Population Health Program. He is now at work on a study of the social determinants of vulnerability in the European heat wave of 2003, focusing on Paris and its suburbs, which has been supported by the City of Paris and the National Science Foundation.
