New program enhances engagement for Native American students

July 17, 2018

Annie Jones, co-lead of the Native Nations_UW Working Group, was featured on WORT-FM Radio, Madison, regarding The Culture Keepers: Native Nations Elder-in-Residence Program. The program is among the crowdfunding pilot projects selected by the UW Foundation for a two-week, Kickstarter-like fundraising campaign. It will support opportunities and engagement for Native American students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison through the development of a living and learning community that will include access to visiting elders, weekly meals at the UW-Madison American Indian Student and Cultural Center, and increased collaborative curricula and research with campus partners. We invite you to learn more and make a donation toward the initial $5,000 needed to develop this program before the campaign ends on July 23, 2018.
