The interdisciplinary research, teaching and service of the Nelson Institute make UW-Madison a world leader in addressing environmental challenges. 2014 was no exception.
The year saw important findings from our cutting-edge environmental research, new partners in community outreach and hands-on education, the launch of new academic programs to address emerging needs and provide more real-world experiences for students, and honors for our faculty and alumni.
In all of these endeavors, the institute is an interdisciplinary engine of collaboration, helping to solve today's most challenging environmental issues and train tomorrow's leaders and innovators, dedicated both to the science of environmental change but also to sorting the political, social and economic contexts proliferating these new climates, landscapes and ecologies.
