Researchers asked to review new federal financial conflict of interest regulations

June 15, 2012

New federal financial conflict of interest (COI) regulations take effect Aug. 24 for UW-Madison faculty and staff engaged in federally funded and/or human subjects research.

The regulatory changes require important adjustments to the reporting and management of financial conflicts of interest. Because of the scope of these changes, it is important for the campus community to become aware of the new requirements before Aug. 24.

Review the COI Regulatory Changes website to learn more about the key regulation changes and how these changes will impact the campus, including changes to how faculty and staff report outside financial interests to the university, and how the university then reviews and manages potential conflicts of interest.
