Curriculum

The Air Resources Management Curriculum in the Nelson Institute is designed to meet the critical need for environmental professionals competent in air resources issues spanning air system behavior, multimedia issues, regulation, analysis, planning, design and control. The course work combines study in science, economics, health, engineering, ecology and policy subjects to address air management issues at both the local and ecosystem scales.

Each ARM Certificate student must complete six courses and a seminar (18 credits) including:

By entering ARM early in their graduate studies and planning carefully, students often can select courses that satisfy both their degree programs and ARM requirements. Students must complete all 18 required credits in order to obtain the certificate which will appear on the student's UW transcript. Doctoral students have the option of completing either the 18-credit certificate or the 10-credit Ph.D. external minor.

The ARM curriculum and list of electives is available in pdf format.
