Faculty, staff and students affiliated with the Nelson Institute are welcome to reserve rooms and equipment for committee meetings, seminars, thesis defenses, etc.
The following spaces are available to be reserved:
| Room | Room Type/Size | Room Use |
|---|---|---|
| Room 140 | Seminar Room, 25 people max | Faculty, staff, student meetings and seminars |
| Room 175 | Classroom, 45 people max | Priority is given to Nelson Institute classes Tuesday-Friday and to faculty governance meetings on Mondays |
| Room 110 | Classroom, 20 people max | Priority is given to Nelson Institute classes |
| Room 122G | Conference Room, 10 people max | Priority is given to Nelson Institute Director's Office |
| Room 15 | Student Commons, 20 people max | Priority is given to Nelson Institute students, the student commons (i.e. computers) must remain open to the general public |
We also have AV equipment available from the Academic Programs Office including a laptop, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, and slide projectors.
All rooms and equipment should be reserved through WiscCal. Everyone affiliated with the University who has a NetID automatically has a WiscCal calendar.
The resources listed above can only be reserved through WiscCal even if you use a different calendar program on a regular basis. If you use a different calendar program, after you request a room or the AV equipment through WiscCal, you will need to update your other calendar (there is no link between WiscCal and other programs).
(these directions are for WiscCal on the web; the desktop client is slightly different)
You will now see the schedule for the room or equipment, and you can see if the resource is available for the date and time you would like to use it.
To request the use of a room or AV equipment, you need to “invite” the room or equipment to a meeting that you set on your own calendar.
If you have trouble with this process, contact the following:
Hope Simon for rooms 140 and 122G
Danielle Lamberson Philipp for rooms 110, 175, 15, and the AV equipment.
