The three types of faculty membership in the Nelson Institute are: (1) Faculty, (2) Governance Faculty, and (3) Executive Committee.
Basic faculty appointments in the institute are consistent with UW-Madison Faculty Policies and Procedures, which allows a faculty member to be associated with a department without governance rights or a continuing departmental commitment.

A UW-Madison faculty or staff member who wishes to join the Nelson Institute Faculty should submit a letter stating the nature of her/his interest and a current curriculum vitae to the institute director, who will forward it to the institute's Executive Committee for action at its next scheduled meeting.
