The Nelson Institute and other departments frequently offer additional environmentally oriented courses that are not listed in the Timetable. For a partial list of such courses to be offered next semester, see Special Topics, New Courses and Seminars.
The Nelson Institute offers more than 100 courses, some independently and others in conjunction with UW-Madison's schools and colleges. Courses numbered 100 to 699 are open to undergraduate students. Courses numbered 300 to 999 are open to graduate students.
Consult the appropriate Timetable (spring, summer, or fall) to see when these courses are offered. (The Nelson Institute's courses are listed under "Environmental Studies" in the "School/College" section and indicated by the prefix "ENVIR ST.")
Course syllabi are available from our Academic Programs Office in 70 Science Hall or from the course instructors. Some are available on course Web sites (see below).
Other academic departments at UW-Madison offer many additional courses related to natural resources and the environment. Descriptions of these courses appear in the Undergraduate Catalog, Graduate School Catalog, and Timetable under the academic departments through which they are taught.
